In a Flash

I switched from mini-blinds to 3" blinds thinking they'd be easier to dust and I'd want to clean them more frequently. They are easier to clean, but I still don't clean them as often as I should. I have, however, discovered a remarkably easy way to clean the blinds, which does not involve running a cloth through each slat.

Lightly spray a disposable duster with Pledge (or any dusting spray) and run it over your closed blinds. The spray makes the dust stick to the duster, making your job oodles faster and easier. I cleaned all my blinds in a flash and have the evidence to prove it! (This is about as embarrassing as my facial mask photo.)

If cleanliness is next to godliness, I do believe my blinds have been saved!

What handy cleaning aid do you use to expedite your house cleaning?

Instead of expensive cleaners for my stove, I use dishwashing liquid. It's cheap and cuts the grease. I posted a pic of my kitchen after my husband cooked...well the stove looked just as bad...I just didn't want to take a pic of it too.

Great tip! It beats taking the blinds down and bringing them outside to hose them off :-)

Oh, my whole house is in such a mess right at this moment....
I just got home yesterday from a week at camp and my husband remodeled the kitchen. Honestly, to say that the house is a mess is a HUGE understatement.
This is a great tip though. I will be doing this soon.
Thanks for your prayers for me while I was gone to camp. I'll be posting as I find the time. We had plans when I got home yesterday and plans today. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed, but I know it'll all get done in time.
I can't wait to see what's on your blog in the next few days.
Have a great Sun.
Love,
Valerie

This is how I clean my blinds, too. I have found that all of the swiffer products save me alot of time! I love them, but sometimes I damp mop my kitchen w/vinegar instead just because it is more cost efficient.

I keep diluted vinegar in a spray bottle underneath the kitchen sink. I immediately spray all pots, pans, muffin tins, etc. and after a couple of minutes they wash very easily - even with stuck on food. It works in the microwave to make it wipe out easily, too. Just put a cup of vinegar in there and set for 1 minute. A cup in the dishwasher helps, too.

Okay, one more: hydrogen peroxide takes blood stains right out of laundry if you soak it before washing.
