Spring in Eden

I absolutely love spring in Kansas City, especially on my deck in the mornings where I do Bible study. With the sun rising on the horizon and the busyness of the squirrels and birds all around me, it's like sitting with God in the Garden of Eden. It brings peace like nothing else can.

Did you know Eden means delight? At the dawn of creation God created this special place so He could commune and fellowship with man. It was where He walked with Adam and Eve in the cool of the evening surrounded by the beauty of all His handiwork. (Genesis 3) Nature was made for us to enjoy and I suppose that is why it brings such joy. God loves His creation, He made us in His image, so we naturally enjoy it as well. Perhaps this is why I walk out my kitchen door each morning and say to the Lord, "Look at your beautiful sunrise! Thank you for letting me see the work of your hand."

May the Lord bless you this day in your own Eden. May you find pleasure in His creation and delight in Him your Creator!

Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Nancy, you're making me homesick! It's only May and supposed to be 95 here in TX today. I liked your thoughts on Eden and communing with Him in the mornings!

Hey Nancy, great post! I love living in the Smokies foothills in Knoxville. It is so pretty here. I have lived here since middle school, and I have always just been so blessed with the mountain/pastoral views, even from my house!

Hi, Nancy,
And despite the heat, my home and yard feel like Eden to me. You have written a beautiful analogy.

Also, look into this url fyi.

I love watching sunrises and several months of the year, sunsets. However living in southeast Texas I am nearing the end of sunset season until late Sept.

Your post is beautiful, reminded me of the Scripture, This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Have a blesse day.

Your yard is so beautiful. I only have a small patch but I love to be out tending to it.
I've been catching up with your posts, and think your dog is so cute. We too said no dogs on the couch until we got one that is so needy you just want to cuddle him.
I hope Dani is adjusting to working.

I finally thought of a 6 word memoir. It sums up my on-and-off-again desire to overcome my shortcomings. "Lord, help me to yield more."

Here in PA, the weather is beginning to get warm and our neighborhood is full of mature trees of all types; the birds have returned and each morning I awake to their wonderful song. Caterpillars abound which tells me the butterflies will soon be fluttering around and flowers are blooming on more and more porches. Today's beautiful blue sky was a welcome sight after a couple of rainy days. Yes, I love and enjoy God's creation as well.

Thanks for a great post.

Hi Nancy,
You recently commented on my Blog.thanks for the encouragement and maybe one day I will speak again in public.
I will be taking some time to look up your book 'Freedom'. One of my best friends is stepmother to an autistic 11 year old. I would love for her and her husband to have some wonderful support. They live in a smaller town where there is not a lot of awareness or support for families with autistic children. So Thanks for stopping by and I am sure I will be "droppin" in on yours also.
Have a blessed day,
Amy

thank you for the recent comment on my blog. the Lord has blessed us so much these past few weeks since i've been staying home with my baby. i cannot even begin to explain the ways He's been teaching me. i'm thrilled to call Him my Shepherd!

i love the spring. i believe the Lord purposefully planned spring right after the cold of winter. He's so creative and all His ways are beautiful!
