Nancy, again, another wonderful, insightful devotion this week...thank you!

I experienced the biggest disappointment of my life earlier this year. It is only because of God's grace that I have been able to move past it. Oh it still frustrates me and I still think of it everyday but God has lifted me out of that dark period and reminds me everyday that nothing happens without reason...that He has a purpose for everything. I cling to that because I truly don't understand why we experience certain things that we do. I'm looking forward to having full knowledge one day...in the meantime, I will cling to Christ, his comfort, and his assurances!

Also, thank you Nancy for the award last week. I have a post ready for Wednesday where I've answered the questions and have forwarded on the award. Thank you again!

Take care and I hope you have a wonderful week. At least you are experiencing fall like weather...it's still very warm here. Give it another few weeks and it will be cooler here too.

Nancy:
John 14:27 is my header verse on my blog. Peace seems to illude most of us, especially when we frame it in terms of the world's version of peace. I love your teaching about "Shalom" and how it didn't offer the full and lasting peace that Jesus brings into our lives.

Disappointment wears differently on each one of us. I'm walking through some right now and having a hard time finding my focus. I'm staying in a posture of obedience, and God's companioning peace is my poriton, but I am struggling.

Thank you for your perspective. I look forward to each Monday's teaching and your smiling face to encourage me.

Nancy, thanks for sharing your heart and personal experience with disappointment and for pointing us all to the only sure source of peace. Where would we be without Him?!

Blessings!

Nancy, thanks for dropping by. I always enjoy your comments! If you want to look at the cards I made at the workshop last week, go back to "Signs of Fall and Other Ramblings" and click on the red link down in the body of the entry where it says Card Workshop. There are 6 cards in that link. I would love to see your cards too!

Nancy, excellent devotional. There are so many disappointments to take our focus off the Lord Jesus. This is so encouraging. Thank you for sharing your own struggles and triumphs.

What a wonderful devotional Nancy! I know there is not one of us that hasn't experienced disappointment in our lives at one time or another. How blessed we are to have a loving Father to help us through these times. Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy hearing from you!

Nancy,
Your devotion was a sweet reminder of a woman,my mom,who never let diappointment or trouble steal her peace.

Through her example in trusting the Lord it prepared me for the day my mom died. When you have time you might read about the day she went home to be with the Lord.

In the world's eyes it was tragic but in my eyes...I knew she'd be just fine.
